It was a truly unforgettable 5th Anniversary Celebration for Culinary Institute of Cagayan de Oro, The First in Northern Mindanao. The whole day celebration kicked off with a Motorcade in which more than 20 vehicles participated. The following were the motorcade participants: CIC Admin and Staff, CIC Students, Barangay Champions and their respective Barangays (Iponan, Bulua, Carmen, Gusa, Lapasan), and of course, our Participating Sponsors. There was a lunch break after the Motorcade but the formal program was held at the Activity Center of Centrio Mall.

Engr. Edna Dahino, Chairperson Committee on Women and Family Relation, graced the event and delivered the Opening Remarks. It was followed by the presentation of the 1st Kagay-an Barangay Cook-Off Participants who were the Champions from the five selected Barangays (Iponan, Bulua, Carmen, Gusa and Lapasan). A representative from the five Barangay’s, solo or group, also presented Intermission Numbers (song or dance) to keep the audience entertained.

Chef Maria Lourdes C. Caudal, CIC Program Director and Chef Instructor, gave the participants and the audience members a short lecture on Healthy Food and Clean Food; a lecture which will help everyone in attendance about food and sanitation awareness.

While the 1st Kagay-an Barangay Cook Off Competition Grand Finals took place, Ms. Zibrille Pepito (Invited Singer) serenaded everyone with her song numbers and dedicated the last song to the mothers. A Free Dessert Buffet was also open for all of the audience members; the pastries were prepared by our very own Baking Batch F students. The following are the members of the Board of Judges:
